What Omnisend actually costs over a year
A monthly price is not the same thing as a monthly contract. These are the plans above resolved both ways, per seat or unit where the plan is charged that way. Where a vendor quotes only a yearly figure it is divided by twelve rather than left out, and the Quoted column says which figure the vendor actually publishes.
| Plan | Quoted | Monthly | Over 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | per month | $16 | $192 |
| Pro | per month | $59 | $708 |
Cancelling Omnisend, and getting money back
Read from the published Omnisend terms on 18 September 2026. These are the terms, not legal advice: consumer law where you live may give you rights the terms do not mention.
| When you cancel | Cancelling to the Free plan leaves the paid subscription running to the end of the billing cycle. Disconnecting Omnisend from a Shopify store cancels the paid plan automatically. |
|---|---|
| Changing mid-term | A downgrade takes effect immediately and restarts the 30-day cycle, and no refund is issued: unused credit is applied to the next invoice instead. You can only downgrade to a tier that fits your current billable contact count. Freezing the subscription instead of cancelling costs a one-time $50. |
| Your data afterwards | An account on the Free plan is auto-deleted after three months of inactivity. |

Omnisend pricing against its competitors
Compared on the smallest invoice each vendor will accept, not on the advertised per-seat rate. Where a product has a seat minimum, the figure below is the minimum times the rate, because that is the cheque you would actually write.
| Product | Cheapest paid entry | Free plan | Against Omnisend |
|---|---|---|---|
| Omnisend | $16 a month | Yes | This product |
| Klaviyo | $20 a month | Yes | +$4 a month (+25%) |
| Mailchimp | $20 a month | Yes | +$4 a month (+25%) |
Which Omnisend plan should you buy?
| Your situation | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You have 250 contacts or fewer | Free | 500 emails and 500 web push a month. Enough to install and test the flows. |
| You are a small store sending campaigns and flows | Standard | $16 a month at 251 to 500 contacts, with 12x your list size in monthly emails. Scales with list. |
| You send high volumes or use SMS | Pro | $59 a month at the same band, with unlimited emails under fair use plus SMS credits. |
| You can commit three months upfront | Take the prepay discount | 30% off, which is where the advertised $11.20 comes from. Otherwise budget the $16 list price. |
| Your automations touch people who never subscribed | Count them, because they are billable | Omnisend bills for subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages. Unsubscribed contacts are not billed. |
| You have no product catalogue | Do not buy Omnisend | This is ecommerce email. Brevo or MailerLite for general sending. |
Two dials change the price
Omnisend’s pricing page has a list size slider and a “Pay 3 months upfront (save 30%)” toggle that is switched on by default. Both move every figure on the page.
Read at 251 to 500 contacts with the discount applied, Standard shows as $11.20 a month and Pro as $41.30. Those are the discounted rates. The underlying monthly prices are $16 and $59, billed as $48 and $177 per quarter, or $33.60 and $123.90 per quarter with the prepay discount.
The figures recorded on this profile are the undiscounted monthly prices, because that is what you pay without committing three months in advance. Move the slider to your own contact count before comparing with anything else; the ladder climbs steadily from there.
You are billed for people who never subscribed
Worth quoting, because it catches stores out. Omnisend bills for subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages. Contacts who have unsubscribed are not billed.
So a transactional or post-purchase flow that touches customers who never joined your marketing list still adds to your billable count. Check how many contacts your automations actually reach, not how many people opted in.
Sending limits differ by plan
Free allows up to 500 emails a month. Standard allows 12 times your list size. Pro is described as unlimited, with fair use stated as up to 60 times your list size. For most stores Standard’s multiple is ample; for anyone sending several campaigns a week to a small list it is the constraint that forces the upgrade rather than the contact count.
Against Klaviyo, fairly
Omnisend’s own page advertises saving up to 35% versus Klaviyo, and on price it generally delivers. What Klaviyo gives you for the difference is a stronger data model, predictive metrics such as expected date of next order, and reporting that stands up to real analysis. If your marketing is a handful of proven flows, Omnisend is the better value. If you are building segmentation that depends on modelled customer behaviour, Klaviyo earns its premium.
The free migration offer is real and removes most of the switching cost, which makes trying it cheap in effort as well as money.
